Pääkslahti camping site is a great place to relax for families, couples or friends. The camping site is located about 65 km from the center of Helsinki, on the shore of the big and fishy Hiidenvesi lake. For those coming from further away, the area is a great base for exploring the sights of the metropolitan area. The base of the area is Tipula, the main building. In this space we organize joint events and celebrations. The wood-burning heater in the sauna gives great steam. The sauna has a traditional large, wood-heated water kettle, from which hot water is mixed with cold water. The sauna terrace has a lake view, and you can cool off on the terrace. From the sauna you can reach the pier, by a wooden staircase, from where you can take a dip in the lake. There are also restrooms in the area with men’s and women’s toilets, as well as showers and a sink for washing dishes. The playground has a trampoline, sandpit, swings and a climbing frame. Next to the playground you will find football goals, where you can play on a grass lawn. We are constantly striving to develop the area in a more child-friendly direction. Next to the area is a quiet, public child-friendly sandy beach. The frisbee golf course runs in the area partly in the woods, partly through the area. You can grill food in the barbecue hut. In addition, there is a shed, with an open fireplace, in the woods, where you can for example fry sausages. You will find a karaoke equipment there, it is used at events, usually on weekends.
